Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

The short version: We collect only what we need to run the service — your name, mobile number, email, billing status, and the messages and photos you choose to send us. We use them to answer your questions and run your subscription. We do not sell your personal information, and no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

1. Who We Are

Mabel ("we," "us") provides a text-message service that explains documents and messages in plain English for adults 65+ and their families. This policy describes how we handle personal information for the Mabel website and SMS service (the "Service"). Contact: [email protected].

3. How We Use Information

4. What We Do NOT Do

5. Service Providers

We share information only with service providers who need it to operate the Service on our behalf, under their own privacy and security obligations:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or others, or in connection with a business transfer (in which case this policy continues to apply to previously collected data).

6. Data Retention

We keep account and consent records for as long as your subscription is active and as required for legal and telecommunications compliance afterward. Message content is retained only as long as needed to provide the Service and for quality and safety review, after which it is deleted or de-identified. You may request deletion at any time (Section 8).

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please avoid texting full account numbers, Social Security numbers, or passwords — the Service does not need them to explain a document.

8. Your Choices and Rights

9. Children

The Service is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by text and/or email before they take effect, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
